Rainbow Refugees (stories)

Rainbow Refugees Stories presents the stories of 27 LGBT* refugees who are persecuted in their home countries because of their sexual orientation or identity.

A large number of them are awaiting the decision whether they will be allowed to stay in Germany or have to return to where they meet rejection. Their lives are marked by experiences of violence, oppression and disappointment, but also by hope, new encounters and new beginnings.

Together with photographers and journalists, the mentoring program of the Presseclub München e.V., and the mentors of Rainbow Refugees Munich, the project is intended to serve as an opportunity for refugees to tell their stories and to have their say in a society where they are otherwise rarely heard.
